Motion Graphics Toolkits for Major Rebranding

Motion Graphics · Video Editing · Ongoing

Background

Newsflare is one of the largest marketplaces of rights-cleared user-generated video in the world. In 2019 they launched Newsflare Studios, a production hub that turns their library of 280,000 UGC videos into original content across a range of social channels.

As the Studios division grew, Newsflare needed help scaling up social video output while keeping brand consistency. So we teamed up to make that happen.

How I helped

Motion graphics design and templatisation

I worked from Newsflare's updated branding guide to design, animate, code, and publish a library of motion graphics that could be dragged and dropped onto their editors' timelines.

Their older graphics package was a muddled set of After Effects compositions that stumped new editors. I delivered a replacement optimised in the MOGRT format that dropped straight into Premiere Pro.

I then wrote an extensive documentation package, with a full technical guide and a training video, to cut new editor onboarding time in half.

Social video editing

I also worked with Newsflare Studios to produce over 100 videos for their social channels. These compilations drew on Newsflare's vast library of pre-licensed user-generated viral video to make highly shareable content for Facebook, Snapchat, and TikTok.

The results

With the customised motion graphics library, Newsflare's editors no longer had to wrangle complicated compositing or varying aspect ratios to get videos out at speed. The graphics package increased video output by 25%.

On top of that, several of the new social videos passed a million views, adding significant subscriber and revenue growth to Newsflare's bottom line.
