XCharge - Sizzle Reels

Background

XCharge North America manufactures high-power, intelligent charging solutions for electric vehicles on the US power grid. As XCharge built more and more chargers across the country, they realised they didn't have enough photo and video coverage of each installation for their marketing. They brought me on for a multi-day, multi-city trip to document the hardware in the field.

How I helped

I packed up my camera bag and booked multi-city tickets from New York to Chicago, Richmond, and Dallas over the course of three days. At each stop I rented an EV and drove to every new XCharge installation to shoot the chargers in their natural environments, sometimes in extreme weather.

After gathering a great deal of footage — and racking up a great many Hertz loyalty points — I headed back to my post-production studio in Brooklyn to cut it all together.

The results

Video and photography from the trip has been used across XCharge collateral, in press coverage, and on live displays at XCharge conference booths. Alongside the sizzle reel, I cut the featured hero video on their website and announcement videos for new exclusive partnerships. Three days of solo shooting continues to pay dividends.

XCharge and I continue to have a great working relationship, and look forward to charging into the future.
